![]() ![]() On this page, we see the viewpoint of Shoka after the fight she had with Shoya. This could again highlight the anger that Shoya is feeling towards people that have betrayed him. You can tell as the lines make it seem like the point of view “camera” had shot up quickly. The last panel is his words being shot up to the sky. Him muttering the same sentence just highlights his emotions. The next two panels are close ups of Shoya repeating the same sentence. This makes Shoya angry as people that he thought he could count on are just walking away. As if we are seeing it from the view point of Shoya on the floor. The way this panel is drawn is significant as they are walking away but also the angle in which it is drawn is kind of an up shot. The next panel is a view of his “friends” laughing at Shoya’s situation and walking away. But the audience reading sees it as him being on the floor is a low point for someone who thought he could bully his way to being on top. This could represent his vulnerability that he tries not to show externally. The first panel has a bird’s eye view of Shoya. ![]() He is thinking about his so-called “friends” that didn’t do anything to help him off the floor. He is very vulgar in his speech but in other scenes he is seen as very emotional. Shoya could also represent an identity group as he is the main character that the audience sees through in this story. His isolation made him become depressed as the years went on to the point where he almost commited suicide until he had reconnected with Shoko and decided to try and atone for his sins. After this, Shoya had gotten shunned from teachers and other students for the extreme bullying. Shoko had gotten bullied so bad that she eventually transferred schools.
